The department provides healthcare institutions with specialized medical staff to address the current and future shortage in the field of anesthesia and intensive care. Additionally, the department integrates the latest scientific technologies and encourages the participation of its faculty members in international scientific conferences. It also aims to establish postgraduate studies in specialized fields within the department to meet societal needs.

The department aims to prepare specialized healthcare personnel in anesthesia and intensive care techniques to work in public and private healthcare institutions. Tasks and Duties of Graduates: Preparing, operating, and monitoring the maintenance of anesthesia devices and monitoring and treatment equipment in various intensive care units. Preparing the patient before conducting surgical procedures in the operating room. Administering appropriate doses of anesthesia to the patient. Performing intensive care tasks for patients and handling anesthetic substances. Participating as part of the medical team in clinical interventions for emergency and life-threatening cases in various work settings (operating rooms and recovery units). Graduating scientifically specialized cadres. Teaching students how to prepare the drugs and solutions required for anesthesia. Enabling students to acquire intellectual and practical knowledge and skills for understanding anesthesia devices and maintaining them. Training students to anesthetize patients under the supervision of a specialized anesthesiologist.

The Department of Anesthesia Techniques was established in the academic year 2020/2021 to prepare technical personnel who can support healthcare institutions with specialized staff in the fields of anesthesia and intensive care. The department has worked to provide scientific cadres of professors and assistants with high specialization degrees. This year, the department has expanded to include more than ten board-certified anesthesiologists, in addition to professors in surgical and internal medicine, as well as basic sciences. The department has also seen significant growth in the number of enrolled students, increasing from 253 students to over 2,000 students currently. Additionally, the department has developed its scientific laboratories with the necessary equipment and devices to train students. This year, 2023/2024, marks the graduation of the department's first batch of students.

The graduate of the Anesthesia Technology Department obtains a Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia Technology (Anesthesia Technologist) after completing four years of study, which includes both practical and theoretical aspects. The student must successfully pass these years according to the approved curriculum, which includes intensive training in technical skills and a deep understanding of the specialization.
